Woods Fire in Newark

Hockessin assisted Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Co. today on a woods fire in the area of Maclary Elementary School off of Possum Park Road.  19-5 hit the hydrant and established a water supply in a nearby neighborhood.  The crew stretched a line into the woods and worked on extinguishing the blaze while fiield trucks from Aetna & Cranston Heights worked behind the school.  Crews remained on the scene for nearly 3 hours then placed the situation under control.  Photos by Bill Krupa.
