Electric Hazard with Fire in North Star

Saturday, February 19, 2011 13:30 The Hockessin Fire Company was alerted to wires down arcing on Venus Road, North Star.  19-9 went on scene with a pole burnt through at the base and a brush fire against a house. 19-0 went on scene and found the fire just feet away from a 50gal propane take and the house. Crew extinguished the fire and had to awaited DP n L to shut the power off to the 2 residents so the pole fire could be extinguished.

     



 

Vehicle Fire Crossan Road and Stirrup Farms

Hockessin Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire just after 2pm. 19-3 went on scene with a vehicle fully involved. Crew extinguished the fire and awaited for New Castle PD to arrive. After further review it was determined that the vehicle had been stripped and abandoned in the road.

Structure Fire - Paloni Lane

Friday, January 14, 2011 01:15 Many local fire companies including Hockessin, Mill Creek, Cranston Heights, Elsmere, Belvedere and Aetna responded to the alarm at 1:15 Friday morning for a structure fire with an injured person on Paloni Lane near Limestone Road.  Engine 19-3 arrived to find heavy fire coming from a 2story apartments attached to the rear of a mushroom house. One resident was taken to Christiana for injuries. Firefighters were challenged by temperatures that dipped into the low teens during the operation. Scene was placed under control by 19 Captain-1 around 3am with units working. The State Fire Marshals office is investigating the cause of the fire.

   


 

House Fire - Southwood Road

Tuesday, December 21, 2010 12:52 Hockessin Fire Company, Mill Creek Fire Company, Cranston Heights Fire Company and Belvidere Fire Company responded to the report of a house fire at 669 Southwood Road.  Hockessin Fire Company observed thick smoke upon arrival and began the initial attack.

     



 

MVC - Upper Pike Creek Road

Sunday, December 19, 2010 02:01 Hockessin Fire Company, New Castle County Police and Mill Creek Fire Company  responded to the report of an MVC on Upper Pike Creek Road.  Firefighters freed the entrapped occupant and cleared a tree from the roadway. Both occupants were transported to Christiana Medical Center for treatment.

Saturday, December 4, 2010 06:31 Hockessin Fire Company, New Castle County Police and New Castle County Paramedics responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Graves Road and Loveville Road. 

   


 

Single Vehicle MVC - Lancaster Pike - Newport Gap Pike

Saturday, September 18, 2010 00:37 Hockessin Fire Company responded to a single vehicle MVC just north of the Newport Gap Pike / Lancaster Pike intersection.  State Police are investigating.

     



 

MVC Mill Creek Road

Saturday, September 11, 2010 16:55 Hockessin Fire Company responded to a motor vehicle accident on Mill Creek Road.  The driver of the single vehicle involved was taken to Christiana Hospital.

     



 

MVC, Vehicle on fire

Thursday, August 19, 2010 05:43 The Hockessin Fire Company was alerted to a Motor Vehicle Collision with a vehicle on fire on Pleasant Hill Road. Ambulance and Engine 195 responded to the call and upon arrival found the car against a concrete culvert fully involved. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and checked the driver for injuries. The driver of the vehicle was taken to Christiana Hospital for a further check up.
